For over 30 years, An Appalachian Summer Festival, which takes place in Boone each summer, has provided a plethora of arts and entertainment to the masses. From small chamber music concerts, to live stage plays to the annual Fireworks Concert, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
This year’s Outdoor Fireworks Concert will feature country superstar Kacey Musgraves at Kidd Brewer Stadium. The concert will take place on June 27 at 7:30 pm, followed by a grand fireworks display.
The Turchin Center Summer Exhibition Opening is July 3, from 6 - 10 pm featuring STREAM: Razi Projects, the Collaborations of Suzi Davidoff and Rachelle Thiewes
On July 11, Brian Stokes MItchell with the Winston-Salem symphony will perform at the Schaefer Center at 8 pm.
The David Grisman Sextet featuring special guests Bryan Sutton Band will be at the Schaefer Center on July 17 at 8 pm.
On July 18, The Beach Boys will be performing at the Holmes Convocation Center at part of the Schaefer Popular Series at 8 pm.
Also from the Schaefer Popular Series is "Twenty Feet from Stardom"'s Lisa Fischer and Grand Baton at the Schaefer Center at 8 pm.
On July 31, Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox will be at the Schaefer Center at 8 pm as another Schaefer Popular Series.

This year, An Appalachian Summer Festival will celebrate 31 years of providing one of the best arts and entertainment festivals in the High Country. What started over three decades ago as a small chamber music festival in July has grown into a multidisciplinary festival that offers diverse presentations like concerts, sculpture walk, live stage plays, orchestra performances and so much more.
