Summer Ski Lift Rides
For Mountain Biking

Just because the snow has melted in the summer doesn’t mean the slopes are vacant and ski lifts empty. Both Beech Mountain Resort and Sugar Mountain Resort offer scenic lift rides to the apex of the mountains that allow guests a fun ride and a spectacular view of some of the most breathtaking scenery the High Country has to offer. These rides are great for kids and adults, and both resorts can accommodate large groups. So sit down and enjoy the ride to the top.

Scenic lift rides are offered Fridays through Sunday beginning June 6 at Beech Mountain Resort. The summer ski lift season runs until Oct. 19, so leaf lookers can enjoy a birds-eye view of the magnificent autumn colors that the High Country is famous for. The quad-chair lift is used to access breathtaking views stretching for miles and can accommodate 1,175 per hour. The ride to the top lasts about 5 minutes. If you mountain bike, you can rent a bike from Magic Cycles’ outpost on the resort, hook it to the tray system, which replaces every other chair, to attach up to four bikes. Then ride to the top and enjoy the downhill excursion from there. Or you can ride to the top and enjoy a beer at the new mountaintop bar 5506, which has a large viewing deck spanning 2,800 square feet. Beer tastings, family events and activities such as yoga will take place atop the Beech as well. Tickets can be purchased at the bar.
