Parkway Craft Center
SOUTHERN HIGHLAND CRAFT GUILD
This year marks the 61st anniversary of the Parkway Craft Center housed inside the first floor of Flat Top Manor in Blowing Rock along the Parkway. This turn-of-the-century, Colonial Revival style house was built on prosperous textile entrepreneur Moses Cone’s estate. The Center is one of five Southern Highland Craft Guild Shops in the region and features work from more than 300 Southern Appalachian crafts people. High quality treasures for sale include pottery, woodwork, quilts, glass blown art, jewelry, photography, paintings, and a variety of other creations.
Spend the rest of the day hiking through 25-miles of carriage trails along the 3,500 acre estate, and don’t miss the family cemetery, carriage and apple barn along the way.
