Breweries
In The High Country
An exciting new addition to the High Country are local brewers who have recently opened breweries with brand new tasting rooms. Appalachian Mountain Brewery just opened on Valentine’s Day. AMB features an exquisite 120-foot outdoor bar and a covered porch for guests to enjoy. Their variety of unique brews are from the rich and heavy Black and Gold Porter to the smooth and floral Long Leaf IPA. Blowing Rock Ale House & Inn opens this summer in Blowing Rock. This brewery was born in Boone in 2005 and is now celebrating its new brewery and tasting room in its namesake town. Enjoy the perfect balance between hops and malt in a recipe that Blowing Rock Ale has perfected. The folks at Blind Squirrel Brewery started up six years ago and have seven new brews for the summer. They are a good scenic mountain drive away in Plumtree, but well worth the trip for fascinating and renowned beers.
